I grew up just north of Santa Maria in Lompoc Ca and my dad Barbecued Tri Tip and used Susie Q seasoning. The meat was cooked over oak and we had a salad, beans and garlic bread. When I visited Santa Maria there would be Barbecues lined up and down the Main street and each one used Susie Q seasoning. I use it on everything I cook including eggs!
I grew up in the Central Valley. My dad uses this seasoning for everything and has since I was a kid! Now as an adult I do too. I moved away from the coast and the stores in my area don't sell it 😭 Thank God, I can still order it online! I use it to make sauces, on eggs, popcorn, chicken, fish, pork, beef, vegetables, salad dressing, and in soups, pretty much anything savory. If I could find a way to work it into a dessert I would. I use it so often that when we run out I tell my husband that we're all going to starve because i don't know how to cook without it.
